This plant is in a 10 cm Fibre pot propagated by division

A tall perennial grass from South East Asia that is widely used in Asia food. Pour boiling water over sliced leaves and steep for 5 minutes for Lemongrass tea. Sweeten as desired. Can be dried for tea, potpourri or cooking

This swaying grass will add texture and movement as well as contrast among more compact plants. Ideal container plant or in a border or garden bed

it has the scent of lemon but not the tartness. Although it is a perennial grass i in the cooler climates it will die back in the winter and return as the weather warms up. If frosts are a problem in your area then Lemon Grass will do just as well in a pot.

Plant in free draining position where it get the maximum of sunshine, it is tolerant to wind and salt but it likes a rich soil so add compost when you plant. It grows to over 1 m tall so give it some room. If in a pot  feed regularly with general fertilizer and keep moist.May doe down in wonter so remove dead leaves in spring

The oil is antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral. Also used as an antidepressant, to soothe aches and pains, to relieve stress. If drunk before bed will induce sleep. Effective for headaches and respiratory problems.
