Kaipaki Nursery and Orchard Newsletter 17th April 2020


 We are still on alert Level 4. But hopefully there will be good news on Monday Until the Alert Level is changed the Nursery is closed except for maintenance, We can take orders but we are not permitted to deliver until things relax. We are hoping at Level 3 we will be able to send plants via courier. I anticipate some delays getting new stock in.

The orchard is classed as an essential business and we are registered with the Ministry of Primary Industry. This means that we can sell courier packs of Fruit. We have have been able to send courier packs of fruit out to customers. This will continue under alert level 3. We may however be able to contactless pickups by arrangement

 Courier packs Up to 14.5 kg:

  • Cambridge and Hamilton $4
    • Waikato non-rural $6.50
    • Auckland Bay of Plenty and King country $9.50
    • Rural Delivery is $6.50 extra on above prices

Apples   $1 per Kilo All our fruit, has had low spray and we only use a biological spray and we pick to order Click on name to see picture

Cox Orange We have a few smaller sized left. Had some very favourable comments on these from recent customers These are about finished and are small

Jonagold a larger dual-purpose apple and a cross between Jonathan and Golden Delicious

Monty’s Surprise A very large apple said to be high in antioxidants I prefer it cooked and heard very good as a baked apple These do have some insect damage as not part of orchard where I had lures or release of parasitic wasp

 Fuji A medium sized eating apple

There are a limited number of Quince and Figs (Only seem to be 2 or two ripen a day)
