This is a clump-forming plant native of South Africa It likes hot dry conditions but will thrive in most of the North Island and coastal areas of the South Island (hardiness zones 9-11)
It has long rigid sword-like foliage and produces attractive large attractive flowers that are and white with yellow and purple centres, on erect slender stems about 1m high It flowers during the warmer weather.
Great for mass planting as ground cover or a border. This species will grow in most conditions but best in a warm dry spot in sun or part shade. Frost tolerant.
